Derceto Aquadapt Software for Water - Implementation Approach

Derceto's Aquadapt software is customized for every client, taking in their specific systems, pumping and storage abilities and unique operating procedures.

The process of implementing an Aquadapt system is split into three phases enabling clients to establish how much Aquadapt software could save their system in electricity costs; how it would work within their current systems and then implementation.

Flexibility

It's not just the Aquadapt software that's adaptable. The phases outlined below can contractually be amalgamated to best suit the needs to our clients. The process is flexible, giving our clients the option of doing a feasibility study and then going straight into a combined design and implementation. Conversely the feasibility and design process can be done simultaneously.

Phase One : Feasibility Study

The feasibility report includes a wealth of information and analysis for managers and engineers including projected savings, cost benefit analysis, while also looking for any show stoppers of Aquadapt software. We also provide high-level information on how Aquadapt software interfaces with your SCADA and telemetry systems and recommendations for instrumentation, system configuration and processes that could further save electricity costs or improve operations.

Our staff analyze data from nominated pumping plants from both summer and winter and the client's operational constraints and, using the Aquadapt system, work out a more effective pumping schedule, moving the same amount of water but at lower tariff times. We then calculate how much money a client would save if the Aquadapt system's pumping schedules were used.

Phase Two : Detailed Design Study

In the Detailed Design report we take the findings from the Feasibility report and delve further into a client's system. For this report we analyse a client's entire system and develop a calibrated hydraulic model to test various strategies, incorporating tariff changes, different seasons and operational constraints. This information is used to redefine savings across the client's entire system.

The report also includes a detailed design which extensively analyses the client's operational constraints such as high and low levels, pressure constraints, high/low flow and maintenance. We analyze current field hardware and instrumentation and recommend if any need to be replaced, recalibrated or upgraded. The report also includes how Aquadapt software will interface with the client's system, particularly SCADA systems; which parts of the system would be automated under the Aquadapt system's control and recommendations for upgrades that would improve both operational efficiency and the Aquadapt software's ability to further save on electricity costs.

Phase Three : Implementation

This is where it all happens. The Derceto team puts all the information derived from the previous two analysis reports and builds a customized software package. We work closely with our clients throughout the customization process to make sure all client interfaces and functionality incorporates current operational processes, and operators and engineers are comfortable with how the software works and how it will improve operations.

Phase Four : Support and Training

Having delivered our award winning software now is the time to make sure that it continues to perform and deliver savings even as your water distribution network changes over time. Training is provided by a certified water distribution system operator.  Support is also provided via telephone or the Internet using a state-of-the-art secure website with client specific support tracking.  Users can view their support requests in real-time and interact with the support team.
