Water transportation is costly enough as it is, but with electricity rates continuing to rise, many in the industry are working even harder than ever to find new technology that will reduce those costs..
In a study done for a major US city by the Washington D.C. based Alliance to Save Energy determined that almost every large pump in a distribution system should be changed to a more efficient unit, and all would achieve better than a 4 year pay-back and more than half would achieve a 1 to 2 year payback. Disappointedly none were changed at all.
