201 Operator Panel
The Operator Panel is the primary graphical user interface for monitoring and controlling Aquadapt software. Operators and supervisors use it to:
- View the Aquadapt sottware's pump schedules, flow set points and pressure set points;
- Monitor daily water demand expectations by zone and throughout the entire system;
- Enter over-ride settings and manually schedule pumps if required;
- View energy purchase costs and energy consumption forecasts in real-time;
- Schedule bulk water sales or bulk transfers into or out of the water distribution system.
Running as a stand-alone program, as a web applet, or embedded into the SCADA system (or all three) the Operator Panel can be open on multiple computers simultaneously. It is the operator's window into the processes running on the Aquadapt server. Starting with an overview summary page, an operator can quickly grasp the day's scheduled activities and answer critical questions like "Do I have enough production capacity?" or "How full will my storage be by 7:00 am tomorrow?" On this page the operator interacts by entering storage level constraints and production targets for the day.
Each pressure zone has its own display page. A typical page covers four main areas of information: overview summary data on daily demand and capacity; zone specific demand; zone specific storage tank levels; and the output controls (either flow control set points or pump schedules) for the next 48 hours. Electricity tariff data is displayed graphically but can be shown numerically at the touch of a button.

The Zone pages are the most commonly used
These highly interactive pages allow an operator to not only see what has happened in the zone and the predicted performance, but also to manually schedule pumps and flow control devices up to 48 hours in advance. Predicted storage tank levels allow an operator to make informed control decisions.
The colored tariff bar (red, yellow and green) gives the operator a quick visual reference to the changing electricity costs through the day.
View the treatment plant schedule and flow rates
Each treatment plant has its own page. Authorized operators can set or override limits such as flow rates, ramp rates and clear well levels.
The Operator Panel gives the user a single page to conveniently view all demand including, storage refill, total zonal demand and any bulk transfer requirements. This can then be compared with available production capacity to detect and correct imbalances in supply and demand.
The Operator Panel is the window into all of the Aquadapt software's real time decision-making processes. It is configured to be driven directly from the Aquadapt database. Creating a new pressure zone or adding a pump to an existing zone in the database instantly updates the Operator Panel. Although all Aquadapt software installations have the same core software, everything is customizable from screen resolution and colors to measurement units and fonts. This makes it possible to match the graphics to existing SCADA conventions while still sharing the benefits of common source code with all Aquadapt system users.
Security is built into all levels of the Operator Panel, from initial login to individual points on each screen. Only authorized users can view or modify values. This security extends through all versions of the Operator Panel, from embedded SCADA to thin web clients.
