Derceto Limited emerged out of the Beca Group as an independent company to provide specialist software solutions for water utilities. From within the Beca Consulting environment, Derceto staff have used their solid background in a variety of computing, modeling, simulation and engineering disciplines to continue development of our world-leading pump optimization software called Aquadapt®. From its first installation in 2000 it quickly became apparent that the Aquadapt software was going to enjoy wider success internationally and a subsidiary company, Derceto, Inc. was established in 2003 specifically to cater for the North American market. Subsequently Derceto UK Limited was established in 2006 and Derceto Canada Limited in 2007 to support Derceto’s ongoing growth. Derceto, Inc. is headquartered in San Francisco, CA with regional offices in Atlanta, GA and Sun City, CA. Derceto, Inc. established itself with its first full US implementation in 2004 and has since completed projects with numerous water utilities across North America.

Mike Espejo - Technical Support Specialist (North America)

Mike Espejo brings over 20 years experience in the Water / Waste-Water Industry to his role at Derceto, with 18 years of that spent in the Operations Department of the 5th largest Water Company in California.

Based in Riverside County CA,  Mike utilizes his operations expertise to manage and provide in-country support to existing Derceto Aquadapt installations in North America. He also strengthens the delivery process for new Aquadapt installation projects with a particular focus on managing the essential operator input to project design and then deliver appropriate training during and after the installation.

Mike has previously supervised the Control Room at Eastern Municipal Water District. There he managed the Potable and Recycled systems along with System Control Operators, Dispatch Team and Planner / scheduler staff in a 24/7 operation.

Mike is certified by the California Department of Public Health and maintains T-3 Treatment Operators’ certificate and a D-5 Water Distribution System Operators’ certificate.

K Water from Korea start two Phase 1 Feasibility Projects

K Water, the bulk supplier of water to nearly all of Korea, has awarded two feasibility projects to Derceto.  These two studies are being undertaken in collaboration with our in-country partner, EnE System who have already supplied technical specialists for the projects to work in the Derceto New Zealand office. The first study is for an area covering about 1/4 of Seoul.  With 2000 ML daily demand for this sub-system and the capacity to deliver 20,000 ML per day to the whole of Seoul this is the largest single distribution system every analysed by Derceto.  The second study is for the city of Ulsan in the south of Korea. It has a daily demand of 1200 MLD making it similar in capacity to some of the US reference sites.

Derceto opens up office in Canada

Derceto Inc. responding to increased business in the Canadian market opened up an office in Toronto, Ontario earlier this year.  This office will provide closer contacts for our many Canadian customers and act as a springboard for increased future growth in the Ontario and wider Canadian market.

Energy management company Derceto, Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Wes Wood Jr. to the role of Vice President of Sales effective from January 1st 2008. Wes Wood has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and 23 years of control systems experience working in the water and wastewater industry. During this time, Wes has held a number of positions ranging from Design Engineer and Project Manager through to Regional Sales Manager and President & CEO of an Instrumentation and Controls company in the Southeastern U.S. In joining the Derceto team, Wes will add considerable experience and strength to sales, delivery and support activities in North America.

Derceto Selected as a GoingGreen 100 Top Private Company

Derceto is pleased to announce that we have been chosen by California based AlwaysOn as one of the GoingGreen 100 Top Private Companies for 2007. The first-annual elite GoingGreen 100 list was compiled by the AlwaysOn editorial panel. In order to be eligible for the GoingGreen 100 list, companies had to be peer-nominated, with AlwaysOn receiving more than 500 nominations from venture investors, investment bankers and other industry experts.

WaterOne Places Second in Nation in ‘Best of the Best’ Water Tasting Contest

We are delighted to see that WaterOne were selected as having the second best tasting water in the nation at this years 2007 AWWA national conference in Toronto. Congratulations WaterOne!

Derceto Aquadapt was installed into WaterOne in July 2006.  It controls the entire distribution system including setting selections for the raw water intake pumps from the Kansas and Missouri Rivers.

Derceto's Chief Technical Officer, Simon Bunn, won the Entrepreneur of the Year Award at the New Zealand Engineering Excellence Awards held in Wellington in December 2005.

At the 2002 ACENZ* Awards Derceto took one of the two gold awards for the most outstanding projects of 2002.
