Southern Regional Water Pipeline Alliance in Brisbane selects Aquadapt

The Southern Regional Water Pipeline (SRWP) is a regional infrastructure project of key importance designed to help Brisbane City, Ipswich City, Logan City, Gold Coast City and Beaudesert Shire councils manage their existing and long-term potable water requirements.

The SRWP is part of the $9 billion South East Queensland (SEQ) Water Grid. The SRWP is one of three major infrastructure projects delivered by the Southern Regional Water Pipeline Alliance (SRWPA) for LinkWater Projects, the state government's special purpose vehicle, for the design and construction of water infrastructure.

The $800+ million project was granted Significant Project Status by the Queensland Government in September 2005. The SRWP is a fundamental part of the Queensland Government's drought strategy initiative.
Derceto Ltd carried out a feasibility study in 2007 and this has lead to an order for an Aquadapt system implementation to control this significant pipeline.

Detailed design will be carried out first to confirm the project scope, and following a client review the project is anticipated to be fully underway by May for delivery in October/November 2008.
